Instructor(s)
Kiayan Reuter
Kiayan’s inspiration for learning and healing through yoga began in 2000 with a pulled hamstring and a VHS tape of “Yoga for Dummies with Sara Ivanhoe”. When she finally had the courage to step into a classroom full of other yogis she felt completely at home. From that moment forward her journey to learn more about yoga philosophy and practice blossomed. Kiayan has turned her practice into her life and work. She completed her first teacher training with Yoga Works Los Angeles in 2007 and has made the transition to teaching full time.
Kiayan believes that everybody should practice yoga, not because everybody needs to stand on their heads, but because everyone could benefit from a little more happiness and peace in their lives. Correct alignment is emphasized in Kiayan’s classes. She encourages students to care about the details of their practice, for the practical benefits of doing so, as well as an exercise in mindfulness.
Kiayan is a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and is greatly indebted to all of her teachers, especially Joan Hyman, Laura Miles and Annie Carpenter. Along with every student who appears to teach her to grow as a yoga instructor.
